Wild & Scenic Environmental Film Festival
Sunday, March 7, 2010 ~ The Tara Theater, 235 Cheshire Bridge Rd., NE Atlanta, GA 30324
With a growing public awareness for the environment, the Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival aims to increase this groundswell through inspiring and educational films which hopefully will motivate people (like YOU) to go out and make a difference in their community and around the world. Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper (UCR), Georgia River Network (GRN) and Georgia ForestWatch (GFW) have partnered to bring the best of the Festival On Tour to Atlanta for the third year in a row.
The 2010 program offered several inspirational and motivational films of varying lengths including,. What’s Organic About Organic? Bag It (50 min.), Big River, and more (see film trailers).
WHAT YOU CAN DO: We hope these films may inspire you to take action to address the problems they present. There are simple things that you can do in your daily life to help. Our friends at Half Off Green have created a list of action items to go with our film selections. Click here to see what you can do! And see UCR's No Time To Waste section of this website to find ways to be more water and energy efficient in your home.
In addition to these and other films, our 2010 festival on tour in Atlanta welcomed photographer and writer Holt Webb and his eco-friendly motor home BABS, who shared his Vanishing America Project promoting conservation and educating others about the wildlife and culture we are losing.
Thank you to all our of sponsors, guests, and volunteers for making this event a huge success!
Since 2003, the Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival has grown to receive local, regional, and national applause for celebrating the spirit of environmental activism and has become the largest traveling festival of its kind in North America.
