What We Do
Chattahoochee Riverkeeper (CRK) works to protect and preserve the Chattahoochee River, its lakes, and its tributaries through these programs:
Water Conservation - Promoting water efficiency through education and advocacy
Water Monitoring - Patrolling the river and performing water monitoring
Report a Problem - Citizen "hotline" program for reporting problems around the Chattahoochee Watershed
Education & Training– Teaching children, citizens, business people, and policy-makers how to protect our river
Enforcement - Holding polluters accountable and strengthening regulatory protections for our waterways
Legislature– Working with legislators and lobbying to protect our water resources
Headwaters & Lake Lanier– Providing education, enforcement and partnership to headwaters citizens and groups
West Point Lake Region– Providing education, enforcement and partnership to West Point Lake Region citizens and groups
Water Planning– Advocating for effective and wise water planning for our region
Tri-State Issues– Adressing the conflict between Georgia, Alabama and Florida over water sharing between the three states and offering practical, sustainable solutions.
